The quick answer
With one child under 6, one aged 6–17 and $100,000 of adjusted family net income, you get about $8,040 a year or $670.02 a month from July 2026 to June 2027.
Step by step
- Maximum: $8,157 + $6,883 = $15,040.
- Your income is above the second threshold ($82,847), so the reduction has two parts.
- Part 1 (fixed for two children): $6,022 — that is 13.5% of the $44,610 between the thresholds.
- Part 2: 5.7% of income above $82,847: $17,153 × 5.7% = $977.72.
- Total reduction $6,999.72; $15,040 − $6,999.72 = $8,040.28.
Two children: monthly CCB by income
| Family income | One under 6 + one 6–17 | Both aged 6–17 | Both under 6 |
|---|---|---|---|
| $60,000 | $1,008.50 | $902.33 | $1,114.67 |
| $80,000 | $783.50 | $677.33 | $889.67 |
| $90,000 | $717.52 | $611.36 | $823.69 |
| $100,000 | $670.02 | $563.86 | $776.19 |
| $110,000 | $622.52 | $516.36 | $728.69 |
| $125,000 | $551.27 | $445.11 | $657.44 |
| $150,000 | $432.52 | $326.36 | $538.69 |
| $175,000 | $313.77 | $207.61 | $419.94 |
If both children are 6 or older you would get $563.86 a month; if both are under 6, $776.19.
Why the benefit falls slowly at this income
Between $38,237 and $82,847 a family with two children loses 13.5 cents of CCB for each extra dollar earned. Above $82,847 that drops to 5.7 cents, so the benefit lasts well into six-figure incomes. For two children aged 6–17 it runs out at around $219,000.
Two things worth checking
- The CRA adds both partners’ net incomes (line 23600). An RRSP contribution by either of you lowers the family figure.
- If your income changed a lot in 2026 (job loss, parental leave), it will show up in the CCB from July 2027, not before.
Quick reference: getting the CCB right
- Apply early. Apply when your child is born (usually through the provincial birth registration) or when a child comes to live with you. If you apply late, the CRA can usually still pay the months you missed, but it may ask for extra documents.
- File every year. Both you and your spouse or common-law partner must file a return, even with zero income, or payments stop in July.
- Report changes. Marital status, custody, address and a child leaving your care all change the amount; tell the CRA by the end of the following month.
- Payment day. The CCB is paid monthly, usually around the 20th, by direct deposit.
- Newcomers can qualify in their first year; the CRA asks for income from outside Canada for the base year.
How the figures were checked
The maximums ($8,157 and $6,883), thresholds ($38,237 and $82,847) and reduction rates are the CRA’s figures for the benefit year July 2026 to June 2027, based on 2025 income, cross-checked with the Government of Canada’s July 2026 announcement (family with children aged 5 and 9 on $65,000: about $11,430 a year). The calculator mirrors the CRA formula; your own notice may differ slightly if a child changes age group during the year or if the CRA uses a different income figure.
Remember that your province or territory may pay its own child benefit alongside the CCB, using the same application. Those amounts are not included here.
