Step by step
- Your ₱15,000 salary falls in the ₱15,000 MSC bracket (₱14,750 to ₱15,249.99).
- Six highest MSC in the 12-month period: 6 × ₱15,000 = ₱90,000.
- Average daily salary credit: ₱90,000 ÷ 180 = ₱500.00.
- Benefit: 105 × ₱500.00 = ₱52,500.00.
If you are employed, full pay for 105 days is ₱15,000 × 3.5 = ₱52,500.00, so your employer’s salary differential is ₱0.00.
What if I only paid 4 months?
You are still eligible (the minimum is 3 contributions), but SSS still divides by 180. With only 4 months of ₱15,000 MSC: 4 × ₱15,000 ÷ 180 × 105 = ₱35,000.00. Paying contributions on time — especially if you are voluntary or self-employed — makes a big difference.

Timeline for a February 2027 baby
The semester of contingency is Oct 2026 – Mar 2027; the 12 months that count are Oct 2025 – Sep 2026. If you plan to deliver around this time, check your contribution history in My.SSS now.
Remember to notify your employer (or SSS directly, if you are self-employed or voluntary) of your pregnancy and due date, and file the maternity benefit application after delivery.
For voluntary and self-employed members
You choose your declared monthly earnings when you pay, so your MSC — and your maternity benefit — follow what you actually paid. Contributions must be paid before the semester of contingency starts to count. If you plan to have a baby, paying regularly on a higher MSC (up to ₱20,000 for this benefit) can raise the amount you receive.
Paying late for months inside the semester of contingency will not help: SSS only counts contributions paid for the 12-month period before it.
