Good news on tax
Minimum wage earners are exempt from income tax on their statutory minimum wage and on their holiday pay, overtime pay, night shift differential and hazard pay. Your SSS, PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG contributions are based on your salary as usual.
Wage before 26 September 2026
For overtime worked before 26 September 2026, the NCR minimum was ₱695 a day (₱86.875 an hour), so OT on an ordinary day was ₱108.59 an hour. Make sure back pay for late September uses the new ₱755 rate.
Check your payslip
Your payslip should show overtime hours and the rate applied. If you see only “OT” with a lump sum, divide it by your OT hours: at ₱755 a day, an ordinary-day OT hour should be ₱117.97. If the amount is lower, ask HR politely for the computation — honest mistakes happen, especially right after a wage increase.
